Want to be able to watch all the action of a Grey seal pupping beach without the long walk and Orcadian weather?
Now is your chance to watch our Sanday pups from the comfort of your armchair!
There are lots of exciting events for all ages happening throughout the year including guided walks, wildlife watches, practical workshops, indoor educational sessions, storytelling and craft events. Why not join in!
The third largest island in Orkney, Sanday is one of the most northerly of the Orkney Islands. Sanday has been called the 'Jewel of the Isles' because of the richness of its archaeology, but it deserves the name just as much for the beauty of its long, unspoilt beaches, the abundance of birds, seals and other wildlife, the glittering seas, the clear air and the spectacular skies by day and night.
The Sanday Development Trust has been able to employ a resident Ranger since 2005 whose role is to help you enjoy the wonderful wildlife and make the most of your time on Sanday. Throughout the year, the Ranger organises free events, guided walks, workshops and activities open to all.
